Why Choose Us

You deserve better than guessing your way back to movement

Pain and recurring injuries keep you from the activities that matter most. Without a clear plan, you risk losing conditioning, missing out on outdoor seasons, and wondering if you'll ever feel confident in your body again.

Your pain keeps coming back

Temporary relief fades because the root issue was never addressed with targeted strength and movement work.

You're losing strength and conditioning

Time off adds up, and getting back becomes harder the longer you wait without a progressive plan.

You're avoiding activities you love

Fear of making it worse keeps you from skiing, hiking, lifting, or playing with the confidence you once had.

You're spending money without results

Generic exercises and quick fixes add up without addressing the real problem, leaving you frustrated and still searching for answers.

So happy with how I feel after a session with Dr. Dwyer! She was able to relieve the pain and strengthen my shoulder so that surgery was not required. I was a little nervous about Covid, but her sanitizing practices made me feel very safe. Her communication, knowledge, experience and genuine good heart made my experience 100% positive. FAQs

Common questions about physical therapy, Pilates training, insurance, and what to expect at Stowe PT.

Do you accept insurance, or is this cash-based?

We accept BCBS, MVP, Green Mountain Care/Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare. We also offer cash-based options and provide superbills for out-of-network plans. HSA and FSA are eligible payment methods.

Will physical therapy make my pain worse?

Many people worry about this, and it's a valid concern. We use assessment-driven progressions and clear communication to make sure every exercise is appropriate for where you are in recovery. You'll understand the "why" behind each step.

How long does it take to get back to sport or activity?

Recovery timelines vary based on your condition, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. We build a plan with benchmarks so you know where you stand and what's next. Many people notice improvements in strength and confidence within the first few weeks.

What's the difference between physical therapy and Pilates training here?

Physical therapy focuses on rehabilitation, pain management, and return-to-sport progressions. Pilates is more than rehab  it’s proactive strength training.
Offered as a standalone cash service, our evidence-informed Pilates sessions develop strength, control, and body awareness to help you move better, prevent injury, and perform at your highest level.

Do I need a referral to get started?

Vermont allows direct access to physical therapy, so you do not need a referral to book an evaluation. If you're using insurance, some plans may require one for coverage, and we can help you navigate that. Please note Medicare and Green Mountain Care/Medicaid need referrals
